Upcoming Events Around Town

An Evening With The Dawes
January 20 - 8:00 pm
MontBleu Casino

California-based roots rock band Dawes were formed in the Los Angeles suburb of North Hills by brothers Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith. Unlike the more intense indie rock sound they had as Simon Dawes, Dawes were heavily influenced by the gentle acoustic-based musical trappings and rich vocal harmonies of the Laurel Canyon sound (Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell), and also by the shambling, romanticized Americana of the Band.

Brett Dennen
February 4 - 8:00 pm
MontBleu Casino

Amiable West Coast singer/songwriter Brett Dennen first drew attention in 2004 with the single "Desert Sunrise." The tune, with its easy groove and soulful phrasing, garnered enough spins on KCRW to warrant the release of his self-titled debut the following year. Stylistically, Dennen's thoughtful, laid-back tunes fit in with the burgeoning singer/songwriter scene that had produced stars like Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson.

Presley, Perkins, Lewis & Cash
February 11 - 7:30 am
Harrah's South Shore Room

Memphis is alive with a new genre of music - not quite rockabilly - not quite swing - the papers are calling it ROCK AND ROLL.  As the ROCK AND ROLL phenomenon sweeps the nation, four men stand at the center of the swirling musical storm.  In Presley, Perkins, Lewis & Cash, you'll hear them all - plucked from the past and brought to stand before you, just as they did in 1956.  You'll hear: Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley! It's a rockin' trip into the bowels of the south - an intimate musical session where the true spirit of rock lives again!

Umphrey's McGee w/ Spafford
March 10 - 7:30 pm
Harrah's South Shore Room

After 17-plus years of performing more than 100 concerts annually, releasing eight studio albums and selling more than 3.5 million tracks online, Umphrey’s McGee might be forgiven if they chose to rest on their laurels. But then that wouldn’t be consistent with the work ethic demonstrated by the band, which consistently attempts to raise the bar, setting and achieving new goals since forming on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana, in 1997. After releasing their eighth studio album, Similar Skin, the first for their own indie label, Nothing Too Fancy (N2F) Music (distributed by RED), the group continue to push the envelope and test the limits.
